Esin Rager, the daughter of a Turkish father and a German mother was born in Washington D.C. in 1968 and virtually from then on she was introduced to tea culture. After having spent her childhood and youth in the US, Turkey, Russia, Austria and Germany, the multilingual journalist started exploring the media sector at the age of 20. Beside her French and German studies she worked at a Gruner & Jahr branch in Paris and became head of department at the age of 26 at Axel Springer Verlag. Five years later, Esin Rager, mother of two sons, founded a consulting ageny for media and marketing - together with Stefan Müller which she got to know as her business partner in Hamburg.
Stefan Müller was born in Nagold (Black Forrest) in 1968 and worked in the sales & pr sector of Hewlett & Packard after his apprenticeship. Also Stefan Müller, who has always preferred tea to coffee developed an early love for modern drink culture: Together with a partner, he provided parties of the Nagolder Textilfachschule with food and drinks before moving to Hamburg. After five successful years as a Sales Director with Radio Energy he founded the marketing agency 5special.
After the big success of the first samova tea dances they founded samova in December 2002 as a sideline to their marketing agency thereby laying the foundations for their own product world: the modern tea culture of samova.
